TRANSGENDER FEST

TransGenderFest is a three day event that bridges the gap between a fringe culture and those unfamiliar with it, offering a better understanding. Featuring Body Alchemy, intimate portraits of female-to-male trans people by emerging photographer Loren Cameron who invites the viewer to share this transformational rite of passage, with a slide show and dialogue presentation. 12 Minutes MAX! presents Smashing Assumptions, six 12 minute pieces, including performance, new writing, and video challenging the boundaries of gender. The film You Don’t Know Dick by Candace Schermerhorn and Bestor Cram, is a 75 minute feature length documentary about the transmen experience. These men have embarked upon an enormous struggle to recover dignity and an identity denied. Winner of the Best Documentary Award at the 1997 New England Film and Video Festival.
