RECIPIENTS

Public debate and political pressure have forced organizations such as the Cultural Arts Council of Houston and Harris County. CACHH continues to offer grants to performing and visual artists, to writers and poets, to musicians and composers. In order to qualify however, an artist had to find an umbrella arts organization. Recipients features the work of four artists who received grants in 1997 and for whom DiverseWorks served as the umbrella organization: photographers Amy Blakemore and Peter Brown, painter Kathy Packlick, and sculptor Steve Murphy.
