Pat Graney Company: Sleep (making peace with the angels

This theatrical performance explored the dreaming state with a “tone between striking ethereal beauty and intensely physical movement.” Sleep weaves in women’s cultural rituals, including childhood, communion/bas mitzvah, adolescence, maturity, marriage, aging, and death. The musical score was by Martin Swan, an engaging installation done by Marilyn Lysohir, and lighting by Jeff Bickford. Choreographed by Pat Graney.

This event was funded by the National Performance Network and co-presented by the University of Houston’s Dance Division, School of Theater, and the Society for the Performing Arts.
