Mira, Cycle II – The Fall

This performance was part of the 1993/1994 Fall NU-ART Performance Series, put on through a joint effort by DiverseWorks and the National Performance Network. Contraband was a San Francisco performance collective. This was the second part of a series of works based on the life of Mirabai, a 16th-century Indian mystic and poet. In cycle II, Mirabai must come to terms with the end of his marriage, a surreal monkey man sent to murder the audience, a ghostly woman dressed in white, angels trying to fly without wings, and a mysterious hanged man.
