MARK DENDY DANCE & THEATER: WHAT BECOMES A LEGEND MOST?
Bessie award winning Mark Dendy plays Martha Graham, the high priestess of Modern. Lawrence Keigwin takes on the virtuoso Nijinsky, and Dendy plays the mad half of the duo. Using music from Stravinsky, Debussy, Weber and more, Dendy offers his own physically charged and trademark campy, sexy interpretations of Spectre de la Rose, Petrouska, The Rite of Spring, and Afternoon of the Faunes. A luscious duet on which Jennifer Dunning from The New York Times remarked “Love and ultimate faith in the power of dance are made unabashedly clear in this brief, golden duet for the tow Nijinkskys…provides the evening’s improbably but inspired climax.”
