Living Proof: HIV and the Pursuit of Happiness

A Houston film premiere directed by Kermit Cole, co-presented with the Museum of Fine Arts Houston

Living Proof is an amazing look at HIV+ people who have accepted that the amount of time they have left is finite and are resolved to fill the rest of their lives with the things that are important, including helping others with the disease.

The film’s framing device is a show of Carolyn Jones’ photographs of people with AIDS. In face after face– a mother and child, an Eagle Scout, a gay playwright—we see a liberal dose of humor and an underlying determination to meet life with a sense of style.

Living Proof: HIV and the Pursuit of Happiness (1993, 70 min.) will be screened with No Regrets (1992, 38 min.)
