Sophia Torres: La Canción De Eustolia

This dance/theater performance work created by Houstonian Sophia Torres tells the story of her grandmother, a 104-year-old Mexican woman, Eustolia de Luna Hernandez, through movement, music, song, and spoken word. This project was originally funded by the New Forms Regional Initiatives Grants Program through a grant from the Rockefeller Foundation and the National Endowment for the Arts, administered by DiverseWorks and Mexic-Arte. It was also part of the DiverseWorks 1992 Nu-Art Performance Series which spotlighted the most innovative local, regional, national, and international performances in music, dance, theater, and performance art.
