BUTO-SHA TENKEI (HEAVENLY CHICKENS)

Buto-Sha Tenkei (Heavenly Chickens) represents one of the three main lines of Butoh directly influenced by the founder of this Japanese contemporary dance form, Tatsumi Hijikata. The founding directors/dancers, Ebisu Torii and Mutsuko Tanaka, have been performing together for over 20 years. Buto-Sha Tenkei is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience and understand another culture and, perhaps, a little bit more of our own inner landscape.
