Bettison Bash!!! (Return of the Space Alien Babies)

This was a carnival extravaganza to benefit Houston artist James Bettison. In May 1991, the artist’s house and studio were destroyed by a fire in which he also lost over half of his artwork and personal belongings. One month later, he contracted bacterial meningitis and was in a coma for 70 days. At this time, he was in the process of recovering his consciousness, speech, memory, and ability to walk. The goal of the benefit was to help raise money to help cover his medical bills and begin a fund to provide him with 24-hour care in his own home.
