AT HOME AND ABROAD: 20 CONTEMPORARY FILIPINO ARTISTS

DiverseWorks joins the Contemporary Museum in this presentation of works by a post-marital law generation of Filipino artists. Exploring issues of identity and cultural heritage, these artists help to define what it means to be Filipino at the end of the 20th century. At Home & Abroad represents the first major U.S. exhibition devoted exclusively to contemporary Filipino art. Works in this two-site exhibition range from paintings, sculptures, photographs, videos, and fabric works to installation. Artists showcased at DiverseWorks include: Pacita Abad, Elmer Borlongan, Brenda V. Fajardo, Mark Justiniani, Clodualdo Dindo Llana, Lani Maestro, Lordy Rodriguez, José Tence Ruiz, Stephanie Syjuco, and Alan Valencia.

At Home & Abroad has been organized by the Asian Art Museum of San Francisco in association with the Philippine Centennial Foundation/USA.
