Jimmy Turner and Kumiko Kimoto: An Evening of Solo Dance

Turner, a deaf Austin dancer/ choreographer used dance as a way to communicate. In his piece, he explores life as he evolved from a mud-smeared serpent to a man. Kimoto, who came to New York from Japan in 1981, explored falling and being caught in her work. She was particularly inspired by life or death issues such as AIDS. She was accompanied by James Lo, who performed music composed by Yuval Gabay, the Israeli-born Moroccan music director of Dance Kumiko Kimoto.
