INFERNAL BRIDEGROOM PRODUCTIONS: KING UBU IS KING

World premiere of a new work created and performed by Infernal Bridegroom Productions (IBP). Commissioned by DiverseWorks.

At the end of the 19th century, Alfred Jarry’s Ubu Roi set off a riot and turned the performance and art worlds upside down. It’s a hundred years later and Ubu’s back, courtesy of the underground ensemble acting company that brought you Last Rites. Led by artistic director Jason Nodler, Infernal Bridegroom Productions will unleash the world premiere of King Ubu is King, an original work, created and performed by the IBP company. Widely acclaimed for their bold productions of neo-classic plays by the modern masters, King Ubu is King will be the fifth in a series of original works by the company. IBP has previously premiered Jason Nodler’s In the Under Thunderloo, company member Tamaire Cooper’s Tamalalia 2 andTamalalia 3, and Brian Jucha’s Last Rites.
