MEN OF THE WORLD

In conjunction with The Harry Carey Show, a group of unsuspecting pedestrians witnessed the creation of an act of art at the Hermann Square in front of Houston’s City Hall. Artistic duo Mathew Wilson and Mark Alice Durant, performing together since 1991 under the name Men of the World, used Hermann Square as the backdrop for their particular brand of art-making. Men of the World bring aesthetic, social, sexual, and historical issues into the public arena. By performing unannounced public gestures, Men of the World intervene with the daily machinations of social and economic life.
