THE HARRY CAREY SHOW

The Harry Carey Show is a curatorial/installation project by CAR (Michelle Grabner and Brad Killam), highlighting the anxious ‘second city’ symptoms of living and working in Chicago. Chicagoans on the whole have been forced to redefine, through invention of business, trade, entertainment, and art making the body of their middle-American existence. The exhibition seeks out those redefining qualities through artistic strategies, and presents to its audience a polite in-your-face proposal of making do in a second tier city. In addition to multiple displays of static work, The Harry Carey Show will feature a comprehensive survey of young video production. A catalogue, with essays by David Robbins, Hamza Walker, and Marilu Knode, will accompany the exhibition.
