BLUEBEARD’S HASSLE: THE WRITHES OF THE WIVES

This was a performance by Pat Oleszko which included her films and inflatables. Oleszko’s work focuses on deconstructing fairy tales and reassessing the images of women in Western folklore. Quote from Ms. Oleszko: “Bluebeard’s Hassle is a relentless foray into the untidy economics of relationship friction. There’s a chateau, some old business to clear up, trading in futures, and eight people trying to make it work. The cast-of characters proceed with a castle on re-moat control, various inflationary devices listing as the Windfall Prophets, overtly-dressed persona and theatrics of ill-repute, all evolved as an ode to an odd idea: Adamant Eve.”
