HOUSTON: CITY IN TRANSITION
This was a panel discussion in conjunction with the exhibition Project Houston, a multi-disciplinary exhibition presenting designs addressing sociological and urban issues facing Houston. Architects, artists, scientists, and engineers have worked individually or collaboratively to create designs ranging from the pragmatic to the poetic. Topics included: the new economy of the 1990s; human needs and opportunities; how our cultural richness directly affects our quality of life; the natural environment; the built/designed environment; what training should be provided for the future architects and planners of the city.
