Last year Marina Zurkow researched the Permian Basin during a residency hosted by DiverseWorks. From Marfa to Midland, the artist met with geologists, naturalists, cattle ranchers, people working in the oil industry and activists. These dialogues deeply affected the resulting exhibition, but the discussions don’t stop there. Participate in the dialogue, and share your opinions and insights through this survey that is part of the collateral “lab” of Necrocracy.

Artist Talk with Marina Zurkow Saturday, March 17, 1pm
Artist-in-Residence, Marina Zurkow, will give an in-depth tour of her multimedia exhibition, Necrocracy, that explores landscapes, hydrocarbons as agents, and other issues inspired by her research trip to the Texas Permian Basin. As part of the tour, Zurkow will discuss her research trip, ecosystems and the technology that she has created to produce video animations.
